March Empties!

I can't believe that March is already over. I feel as if I was just saying that last month during my February empties! Days are flying by, but that's okay with me, as long as Summertime comes faster :) I didn't finish up many products during the month of March, but the four that I did finish is much better than not finishing any at all. I tend to have a hard time sticking to using the same makeup products in order to finish those up. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stay focused on finishing products up? I really need the advice! My stash is getting unbelievable, LOL.

During the Month of March, the products I finished were: Christmas Cookie Shower Gel (No brand?), Joico K-Pak Reconstruct conditioner, Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam, and Loreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base.

No brand Christmas Cookie Shower Gel: I picked this up for .50 Cents after Christmas time at Big Lots, deal! It smells amazing, just like fresh baked cookies. I found it to be a weird consistency, almost jelly-like. It barely foamed but I still used it anyway because I hate putting things to waste that can still be used. I enjoyed using it overall though because of the smell!

Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Conditioner: If I could use only one word to describe my hair, I would say damaged. My hair is so full of split ends and is extremely dry. I have heard amazing things about this conditioner on Youtube and the likes, so I decided to try it. To my disappointment, I didn't notice any difference in my hair. Its super expensive for the amount of product you get too. I think I'll stick with my Herbal Essences thank you very much. I also found this conditioner runny, and it smelled a bit like dough. Lol.

Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam: I'm on the fence about this product. I did a whole review on it, which you can view by clicking here.

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base: This product is fantastic. I have a hard time finding affordable primers that I really like, and this one really does it for me! It keeps my makeup in place all day, even during work and maintains that freshly applied look. I found that it also helps minimize the appearance of pores greatly. The only downside to the product is that it is very difficult to get the product out of the jar once you get about halfway. I recommend using a foundation or large concealer brush once you begin to get low. I always get it under my nails and it makes a mess if I use my fingers.

Four more products down, and I don't know how many added during March! Haha, hope you enjoyed seeing the products that I finished up this month. Hopefully I will have more than just a few to show you at the end of April! Thank you for reading and as always, I love reading your comments and knowing what you tink of my posts!

This Months Julep Maven Box!

Hey loves! Hope you are all having a great day today. I just got home from work and found my Julep Maven box waiting for me! As you may know from my previous posts, I recieved my first Julep box at a promo price. I decided to try out one more, so for this box, I payed the $19.99. I really enjoyed it, although I do not think I will be a continuing subscriber. I love their products and polishes, but I think that $19.99 is way too much for a box subscription. I would love to try a cheaper alternative to a subscription box though, do you have any suggestions for the US? I think its great to share something like this with you all every month :)

When this month's box arrived, I think I literally said "Awwwww!" They packaged it so adorable for Easter! I loved the colors they used and especially the little chocolate eggs they included (They were surprisingly yummy!!) They also put some cute little toe separators in this months box as an added bonus.

As they always do, they included this card to show what products were in the box!
This months box included:

The Best Pedi Creme Ever!: Exfoliates with alpha hydroxy acids, hydrates with shea butter and coconut oil, nourishes with Vitamin E. Apply nightly for noticable results in just one to two uses.

Annette: Subtle dove grey creme.

Parker: Golden tangerine creme.

Here's Annette. A gorgeous grey creme. This isn't a color I'd go to the store and pick up, but it's nice to have in my collection. It's a very classy color.

Parker is a gorgeous orange color. It is a golden orange which I love. Prior to receiving this box, I had been looking for a color exactly like this so I'm very excited to have recieved Parker! I will definitely be doing a nail post with this color soon.

Last I recieved the Best Pedi Creme Ever. I'm not sure if I'll ever bother using this, but it's nice to have and claims to be very good for your feet.

So there you have it! My March Julep Maven Box! Overall, I guess you could say I was happy with it thanks to Parker. Hope you enjoyed this post, comment and let me know what you think!!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mint Sorbet

Spring is definitely in the air and I love to incorporate the colors of Spring into my clothing, makeup, and most of all, my nails. Today I painted them with Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Polish in the Shade Mint Sorbet, a beautiful pastel mint green. I also haven't done a nail polish post in a while, so I thought this would be the perfect oppertunity.

This polish was pretty easy to work with. Like all light colored polishes, the first coat was streaky but evened out perfectly on the second coat. The formula was thick but somewhat runny, nothing someone who paints their nails often can't handle! This was also opaque in two coats, yay! The drying time was in the middle-not too long but not quick either. But, Overall, I'm satisfied with the application.

Mint colored polishes have to be one of my favorites for spring, along with pastel purples. They go perfectly with the weather and the season. Do you have any favorite colors for spring/summer?

Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty

Hello Loves, I have seen this tag everywhere lately and I was so intrigued by it that I had to do it for you all to see :) This is my first tag post I believe! Hope you all enjoy it!

1.GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My most inexpensive beauty item would be my ELF eyelid primer in "Sheer." It cost me only $1.00 at the dollar store. It really doesn't work well at all, but for some reason I'm convinced I need an eye primer everyday so I've been using it at a good rate.
My most expensive beauty product would probably be the Smashbox Hydrating Face Primer. I won this in a contest from Beauty Crazed (Amazing ladies) and it retails for about $40.00. After trying it, I fell in love but I don't think I could ever afford to buy such an expensive product! For something I've bought myself, it would be the Too Faced palettes. They are $36.00 which isn't actually that much, but for me it seems like a lot of money to spend on anything!

2.WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

I have a love/hate relationship with lipstick. I love that it gives my look a nice finish, but I find that is so drying, and having to reapply it all the time is a pain in the butt. For that matter, I think I have a love/hate relationship with lip products in general. I like to do my makeup in the morning and just leave it for the rest of the day rather than have to fuss with it all the time. The product that has been hardest to get for me would have to have been the Revlon Lip Butters. I didn't get to try one out for the longest time because every time I visited CVS or any store that would carry them, they were always sold out around the time they were released. I finally got my hands on some about a month ago and was super excited.

3.GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

Hmmm. I have so many "delicious" beauty products. And by delicious I assume meaning good smelling. My most delicious at the moment at least would have to be my lemon vanilla body spray by bath and body works. It is definitely a summer scent, but it is the perfect mix of sweet lemon and vanilla. Amazing! I only have the small bottle and sadly, they don't make it anymore so I use it sparingly!

4.SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

I usually go all out with makeup, and do every step, including face and eye primer. But I tend to neglect skin care quite often. I don't moisturize my face enough and I often go to bed without removing my makeup with is terrible for my skin, I know.

5.PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

There really are so many that give me confidence but I'd have to say eyeliner. My eyelashes are naturally very light and adding black liquid liner to the top just makes my lash line look so full, even without mascara. I typically don't wear eyeliner on the bottom, I feel that it is too dark for work or my everyday looks. I also feel great with a full coverage foundation, it disguises all my redness and blemishes, making me feel like I have great skin, even when I don't.

6.LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Physically, I love eyes. If a man has beautiful eyes and eyelashes, he can win me over in a second. My boyfriend has the most amazing eyelashes ever-makes me so jealous! But otherwise, I am very attracted to someone that can make me laugh. I adore a guy with a sense of humour and is fun to be around.

7.ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Oh goodness. I have such a huge wishlist that is an excellent question.
Defintely something expensive, although that sounds greedy. I don't have many high end products and I would love to have something pricey that isn't Too Faced, Urban Decay, etc.. (Although those are absolutly amazing brands, don't get me wrong!) I think something that I have been wanting for the longest time is the Yves Saint Laurent Creme De Blush. I have it on my wishlist as well, but I know I will never purchase it myself. Other than that, probably Diorshow mascara. I've been dying to try that forever but haven't had the money to purchase it.

I really hope you liked reading my first Tag post. I'd love to see all of your posts if you have done this! You can provide your link in the comments if you have and I'll check it out :) Looking foward to reading, have a lovely day! ♥

Clinique Acne Solutions Foaming Cleanser Review

I have done this before, but let me start this review with my skin's background. My skin is combo. I tend to get oily in my t-zone, but parts can be dry, and others-normal. I do get acne, it is somewhat mild but still something I do not want around. I get a couple blackheads on my forehead and nose, but nothing extreme. I do worry about my acne, though, and it makes me very self concious. Because of this, my boyfriend picked up Clinique's Three Step Acne Solutions System for me to try out. I have all three steps in the travel sizes, and today I'm going to be reviewing the Foaming Cleanser.

Clinque's product claim is...
-What It Is:
A mild, medicated formula that fights acne.

-What it is formulated to do:
This cleansing foam helps clear and prevent acne. It gently removes dirt and excess oil while fighting acne breakouts, leaving skin soft, smooth, and comfortable.

I found that this cleanser absoultly helps with my acne. I havent' been breaking out as bad since I have been using this. I don't even have to use the whole three step system to see results, just this product alone. I do think that it leaves my skin soft and smooth, but after I use it I get a bit of that residue that cleansers can often leave behind. I didn't get that super clean face feeling.

On the back of the cleanser's packaging, in the directions it says to pump the product two to three times for optimal results. Yet another downside to this was I ended up having to use seven to even be able to have enough to clean my whole face. When you pump the cleanser out, it foams nicely, but as you begin to wash your face, the foam disappears. Like it never really was foam in the first place! This was one of the most disappointing things about the product. It will cost you a pretty penny at about $18.50, and a little does not get you a long way. I can find drugstore cleansers that can do just as well of a job for less than half of the price tag.

See? Out of the pump nice and foamy. Looks like this will spread out and last you well.

Now blended in the skin...gone! Like magic.

See what I mean? The foaming power of this is just not there.

If you have the money to spend on this product, please be warned that it is also very drying. I found my skin is peeling a bit around my nose and forehead because it has dried my skin out so much. I even followed with a great moisturizer. This would probably be the ideal product for those who have oily skin. Since I have normal/combo skin, this probably dried me out too much as it is aimed to those with oily skin.

If this seems like it could be the product for you, I recommend you try it. Everyone has different skin types, and this may be the product for you! It just didn't cut it for me in terms of price, drying and residue.

Hard Candy Fox in a Box in Skinny Dipping Review & Swatches

I think that orange coral-ish colors make amazing blush colors, and orange has been a color that I've been loving experimenting with lately in different makeup looks. Which is why when I saw Hard Candy's Skinny Dipping blush, I knew I had to have it. I don't have any other blushes like this, it is extremely unique to my collection-and one that I reach for the most often!

General:
Hard Candy describes this product as..
A highly pigmented multi-color powder compact that will surely bring out your inner foxy lady. Each box contains coordinated shades that blend together perfectly and a custom Hard Candy applicator brush. Sweep across chin, cheeks, and forehead and unleash the foxiness in you!

This series of blushes have two duos and three quads. The duos are Skinny Dipping and Truth or Dare and the quads are Spicy and Sweet, Smoothtalker, and Hot Flash. They sell exclusively at Walmart for $6.00.

Packaging:
The packaging on these blushes is very cute. They come boxed with a magnetic lid. Very similar to Benefit's boxed blushes, but the packaging on those is much higher quality. The Hard Candy version also lacks a mirror which the Benefit one includes, but that is irrelevant to me. The Fox in a Box blush comes with a cute but extremely useless brush.. I find it somewhat wasteful to include somethat that doesn't even end up going to good use. It is very thin and low quality.

Overall I love the packaging of these. It strays from your normal compact blush into something different for a drugstore product, which I love. I'm always on the lookout for products that catch my attention, and this one sure did.

Pigmentation:
Here I have swatched the colors in the box. First the left, then right, then mixed together. The left side is a rosy bronze color which is quite gorgeous if you decide to use it alone and the right side is the bright orange coral color I mentioned earlier. Together, they make a beautiful pinky orange color. As you can see, they are quite pigmented for such an affordable product. I've seen many people say these aren't pigmented, but I think different. These also have noticable shimmer, but when applied on the skin they make you look nice and glowy.

Application and Results:
Here it is applied to my skin. I love the way it look and find it very complimentary, maybe even more if I had a bit of a tan but unfortunatly I don't :P As I said, I love the glow this duo gives my skin. Not too shimmery, but not matte either. I did find that picking these up on my brush was quite easy. They are soft enough for easy application and not chalky at all.

Overall:
PRODUCT: 9/10
PIGMENTATION: 8.5/10
TEXTURE: 8.5/10
LONGEVITY:8/10
PACKAGING: 9/10

PS. Check out my ebay! I currently have some brand new white gold colored wedge sandals with leopard bows and pink&orange zebra flip flops along with a cheap *NEW* essie polish in the shade clambake.. I am often listing new items (mainly nailpolish and cosmetic items) so check it out if you are interested! Click here to check out my ebay.

Spring Outfit of the Day!

Hey loves, today I decided to do something a little different to change things up by doing an outfit of the day. I know this is a beauty blog, but I think it's fun to incorporate some different things in once in a while! It is really a beautiful day out, and normally on such a gorgeous day I would wear shorts, but I'm off to work soon and we can only wear pants or capris. This is a very casual look but perfect to keep you cool in the warmer weather. Also, I apologize about the picture quality. My camera is acting up today and most of the pictures are somewhat blurry :(

This is the outfit as a whole. It is super comfy and cute.

My top is from TJ Maxx. I got it for about $14.00. It is slouchy and can be worn on or off the shoulder. I'm wearing it on the shoulder to keep it more professional. Its a brown heather color with multi colored feathers printed on it. Although you cannot see it in the picture, the feathers also have metallic gold accents. This shirt is slightly cropped, but not over the top.

Here are the jeans I'm wearing, they're by my favorite brand called Almost Famous. These were purchased at TJ Maxx as well for about $20.00. They are dark wash and distressed with stud and diamond accents on the pockets front and back.

Moccasins from American Eagle. I got these for Christmas and cannot stop wearing them! These are adorable and my favorite pair of shoes. They are super soft on the inside and very comfortable.

Last, my Juicy Couture bracelet. My boyfriend got me this for valentines day and its so gorgeous!

I really hope you all enjoyed my first outfit of the day! Please let me know what you think of it in the comments!

Pink Beach Luminous Body Bronzer Rave Review!

Ever go for a night a out and feel overly pale in your little black dress? Ever feel like you could use a bit more color without all the hassle of tanning beds, sprays and lying in the sun for countless hours? Well if you're like me, you have very light skin and are looking for a simpe way to darken it. Thanks to a new product from Victoria's Secret, thats now easier than ever. Victoria's Secrets new Luminous Body Bronzer is a simple way to get color in a cinch. This is a bronzer that allows you to apply color whenever you need it, such as a night out or a day at the beach when you feel ghostly compared to everyone else (I often feel this way LOL.) You apply it the day you would like to have that extra color, and it comes off in the shower. It is also a great moisturizer containing aloe for soft skin.

What Victoria's Secret says: "Glow in Pink Beach! Luminous body bronzer nourishes your skin with soothing aloe vera and antioxidant vitamin E."

This bronzer also comes in three Summery scents. Beach Babe, which is a mix of tiare flower and beach musk. Summer Crush- Dewberry and Island orchid, and Sun Kissed- a combination of coconut water and vanilla. I picked this up in Beach Babe, a scent that brings you right to the waters edge with your toes in the sand.

How cute is the bottle? Love the beach packaging so much! This is cute and would look adorable sitting out on your vanity.

I love how this dispenses. It is mess free since you are able to dispense a small amount at a time. This is great because I hate bottles where you pretty much have to dump the product out into your hand and it gets all over the place.

This is how the product looks when you first squeeze it out of the bottle. A beautiful bronze color with a nice sheen to it.

Here it is blended on the right side of my hand. The left side is my normal skin tone. Note that this is a decent amount of product so you can see the color it gives. It is actually quite natural and not orangey as it appears a bit in the picture. It also gives a beautiful luminous look to your skin as it claims it will. You can get a slight tan from this or continue building it for a deeper tan. You just have to be sure that you blend it into your skin well so that it absorbs and won't be blotchy. I recommend this for lighter skin tones, as it may not show up very much on darker complexions.

Overall I'm really loving this product. It smells great, looks great, and feels great! At 15 dollars a bottle (Often on sale 2 for 20 or 3 for 25!) it's definitely worth trying out!

A Big Thank You to All of my Followers!

So just yesterday, I reached 100 followers. It feels like just a few days ago that I started this blog! I am extremely flattered that all of you find my blog interesting and enjoy reading it! I never thought what I wrote would ever be enjoyed by anyone, never mind 100 people! I love logging on and seeing sweet comments from amazing strangers telling me such kind things. For the longest time I had wanted to start a blog, but never had the guts too. I thought that people wouldn't like to hear about what I thought, or maybe what I would write would be boring and uninteresting. But you amazing followers have proved me wrong. I am so thankful to each and everyone of you for making this possible! I really hope that soon I can have a giveaway, I am just unsure of when I will be able to do this, but most likely around the time I reach 150 followers :). Even though I cannot have a giveaway at the moment to show my thanks, I hope you all know that I really do appreciate every single one of you!!! :)

Delicious New Fragrances for Summer by Victoria's Secret!

If you're like me, you love to match your scents to the seasons. Sometimes, this can be hard to determine what scent to choose and when, but Victorias Secret has made it easy for us with three new fragrances inspired by the tropics and warm weather.

Each scent in this line comes in multiple forms- a fragrance mist, a body scrub, a body cream and body lotion, so you can cover yourself in the fragrance of your choice!

The scents in the this collection are Sunset Bloom, Tropic Breeze, and Island Bound. I picked up Island Escape, which smells absolutly amazing!

Sunset Bloom: Brazilian Orchid and Acai

Island Bound: Hibiscus and Cupuacu Melon

Tropic Breeze: Mangosteen and Acucena Blossom

After testing these out in the store, I fell in love with this whole collection! They are all very fruity scents with a touch of floral, perfect for summer days. They are a light mist and not too overpowering so you can just spray them on and go. The formula is also infused with conditioning aloe and chamomile.

And did I mention? Look at the packaging on these babies! Adorable!!

Do these fragrances seem like something you would enjoy? Have you picked any up yet?

Covergirl Lip Perfection Lip Color in Kiss, Review

I've lately become a huge lip product junkie, and after hearing great things about Covergirl's Lip Perfection Lip Color, I knew I had to try it out. I decided to try out a shade called Kiss, which is a frosty coppery coral. I picked it up for about $10 at CVS, but you can always find it cheaper at walmart or Target. I'm always loving trying out new things lately to share with you beauties!

Here's how Covergirl describes their Lip Perfection line:
"Bright, gorgeous color that can transform your day and your lips. Enriched with a silk moisturizing complex, our formula helps sustain moisture levels and helps create soft, smooth, beautiful lips in just 7 days."

This line comes in so many colors, from shades of nudes to corals to pinks and even purple shades! There is a color for every skintone.

As for the color application, it applied evenly over my lips. Absolute Perfection. I found that it seemed to be very drying though, so I'm not sure where they came up with the "Silk moisturizing complex," Just an advertising claim maybe? As soon as I put this on my lips the drying effects kicked in. I feel like if I wore this for seven days, my lips would be even drier than before I started wearing this lipstick. Luckily, this lipstick lasts forever! It lasted a good four hours on my lips, and even stained them afterwards! The color I chose was not my favorite-a bit too frosty-but the longevity of the color was great.

The packaging is also super sleek and cute in a purple-ish metallic tube! Love it!

Overall:
PRODUCT: 8/10
PIGMENTATION: 10/10
TEXTURE: 7/10
APPLICATION: 10/10
LONGEVITY:9.5/10
PACKAGING: 9/10

This is a great product, minus the drying effects. If you can look past that, you have a gorgeous, long lasting lipstick that is well worth checking out!

Favorite Drugstore Blushes

I find that blush is necessary to complete any look for me. It adds a feminine, flirty touch and makes you look so radiant. Because of this, I have become addicted to buying blush, in any shade I can. I have collected quite a few, and from my collection, I have decided to compile a list of my drugstore favorites. In the near future, I may do a more high end favorite blush list, but for now, heres my drugstore list, complete with swatches!

1. Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in Honeymoon ~ 2. Loreal Project Runway Sultry Ravens Blush ~ 3. Milani Minerals Blush in Luminous ~ 4. Love And Beauty Cream Cheek Blush in Coral ~ 5. Covergirl's Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara Review

Hey loves, today I have a review for you on a drugstore mascara that I picked up on my most recent trip to CVS. It is Covergirls Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara in very black and it cost me about $6.50.

Covergirls claim for this mascara is:
"For big, bold, thick lashes, Super Thick Lash is the one. Its Lash Builder brush separates, defines, and reaches for those little lashes so you get thick, full lashes – so easy, so beautiful!"

Now after looking on Makeupalley and such, I know that a lot of people love this mascara. But I found that it fell short for me. It didn't seem to give my eyelashes that much volume. It did lengthen, but the reason I purchased it was for "Super thick lashes!"

Simple packaging with a regular bristle brush. Its a great size for the bottom eyelashes as well, not huge so that it creates a lot of transfer.

Here it is with one coat. My eyelashes looked more sparse than without mascara.

Two coats. Still not that impressed.

Three coats. Starting to clump and look a little messy.

Note that these pictures are all on uncurled lashes to show you if the mascara gave any curl or not (Which it didn't). This mascara didn't hold much curl for me either while wearing it throughout the day after curling my eyelashes. On a good note, this didn't smudge or flake all day long, even through work. Now I wouldnt say this is the worst mascara I've ever used, but its not the best either. I love Covergirl products, this one just didn't do it for me!

Overall:
PRODUCT: 6.5/10
APPLICATION: 9/10
PIGMENTATION: 8/10
LONGEVITY: 9.5/10
PACKAGING: 7/10
EFFECTIVENESS: 5/10
