The Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter Review!

Hi everyone! I know that I've been gone for a while but I'm finally back. As I had mentioned before, i've been super busy with work and such. Its really hard to split my time between work, seeing my boyfriend, and finding time to post. I really missed blogging though, so I'm back today with a product I recently picked up at the body shop.

I actually have never owned anything from the Body Shop until last week when I purchased this. It is called the Chocomania body butter. I purchased it as part of a kit containing the Chocomania soap, body scrub, lip butter, body butter, and loofah. I only payed $25 for the whole kit which was a $32 dollar value! I love sweet scents and I am obsessed with chocolate scents so I knew I had to pick this up the second I saw it!

What the Body Shop says of this product:
This decadently chocolatey Body Butter gives extra long-lasting hydration. It contains 13 Community Fair Trade ingredients – the most we’ve ever put into one product. It leaves skin sweetly scented, and feeling softer and smoother.

-Provides 48-hour hydration
-Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
-Buttery texture
-Quickly absorbed
-Indulgent chocolate scent

The packaging is absolutely adorable on this product. It only contains 1.69 ounces (It's a travel size), which isn't a whole lot, but I don't plan on using this product every day. Its not really a warm weather scent for me, I prefer coconut and citrusy smells during spring and summer. I think this will be perfect for night time though and once fall comes around I will be wearing this non stop!

The texture is gorgeous, it is so smooth and rich, the exact texture of butter. I applied this on my skin and it felt instantly hydrated, even the driest of skin will love this product. This also doesn't leave an oily or greasy residue like many body butters or rich moisturizers tend to do. It is instantly absorbed into your skin to leave it extremely soft and full of moisture.

When I first opened this body butter and smelled it, I got a strong whiff of plastic mixed with chocolate. It was very disappointing, but I decided to try it on my body as well to see if the scent changed. About 10 seconds after applying it, the scent was amazing. It smells like the most rich, luxurious dark chocolate. I honestly could eat this stuff! I think maybe the plastic container gave it that plastic-like smell that was very off putting. The scent will last an hour at the most which is a little bit disappointing considering these products are not exactly cheap, but I'm not sure I'd want to smell like chocolate all day anyways. It's just a super fun scent for when you apply it ;)

Overall I am very happy with my first purchase from the Body Shop. All of the products I purchased were of very high quality and did exactly as they promised to do. I will definitely be shopping there more in the future, so look foward to more reviews on this company and their products!

China Glaze's Jingle Bells and Sinful Colors Let Me Go Nail Combo

I recently just purchased some nail wheels off of ebay to practice with different color combinations. I came up with this one, which I absolutely love. I used China Glaze's Jingle Bells (A light champagne gold with micro shimmer) which was from their holiday 2010 collection as my base and Sinful Colors Let Me Go (An opalescent blue/green/purple) over that. The combination is so gorgeous, but I couldn't capture how truly opalescent the finish is.

I know the tips of my nails look like they chipped, but they weren't :/ The lighting was being awkward. Also I had just painted them, hence why they look so messy. Sorry, I know I should have cleaned them up before photographing.

China Glaze's Jingle Bells was super easy to work with. It went on smoothly and evenly without a streak in sight. I had to use two coats for full opacity, but that is expected with most nail polishes. The color is gorgeous and wearable. I don't think you'd be able to find this in stores anymore, but you could find it online on ebay or amazon if you're interested in trying it out!

Sinful Color's Let Me Go looks stunning in the bottle, but alone on the nails it is super sheer. It doesn't look much like it does in the bottle. I'll probably swatch this soon so you can all see its true color. I do love this as a top coat though as you can tell! It is interesting over a darker color, It gives an almost green opal color. The formula is smooth as well, and it is only $1.99 or less at your local drugstore or Target.

This is a very wearable combination that I'm currently loving. Let me know what you all think of it in the comments! Thanks for reading xoxo

April Empties!

Another month over!! This month wasn't the best month I've had with finishing products. I only managed to finish up three :( I do have quite a few products that are close to being done accumulating though, so I will have more to show for next month. Lately, I've been making myself focus on certain products in order to finish them up so I can move onto a new one. It's not a Project Ten Pan (I've tried and failed) But its just something I'm doing to get rid of products I don't love or products I have had for a long time and haven't used. It has been going surprisingly well, and those products are beginning to run out and hit pan! Its such a great feeling to finish up something lol.

During the month of April, the products I finished were: Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara in blackest black, L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation, and Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation.

Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara: I really enjoyed this mascara while it lasted! I had tried both this and the regular Falsies mascara and found this one to be ten times better! The original was super wet and clumpy, but this one I found that I could use it more subtly or build it for great volume and length. I went through it fairly quickly because it had become my everyday mascara for a while!

L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation: This foundation and I had a love hate relationship. I purchased it, tried it and fell in love. But after using it for a while, I decided, its a terrible foundation. It has no coverage and doesn't last throughout my day like most foundations do, even with primer. I can say the texture is amazing, like a whipped mousse. It is velvety soft. If they could find a way to reformulate this product so it has better coverage, I'd be in love. I adore mousse type products such as this one. I also found that this accentuated any dry skin I had and I tended to get more oily half way through the day.

Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation: Now I'm young enough that I don't really need an "ageless" foundation, but I had heard tons of great things about this product and really needed to try it out for myself. It quickly became one of my favorite foundations ( Next to Revlon's Colorstay). I loved that this product evened out my skin tone so effortlessly and covered and redness I had on my face with only a small amount. It also found that it lasted through my busy day and didn't start to patch on me like L'Oreals Souffle foundation did. I will probably repurchase this product because it was so great. Its a little pricey for a drugstore product at $13, but if you have redness then its worth the money!

So there you have it! My April empties. As I said, next month I should have a lot more products emptied out and finished! As always, please comment and let me know your thoughts, comments or questions :) Thank you for reading xoxo
