Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color in Lava | Review and Swatches!

I can not believe that it has been over a year since my last blog post! Things seemed to get very hectic all at once, and I just ran out of time to blog. Recently, I've been trying out so many new products and truly missing the whole blogging experience! You may have noticed that I also opted to change the name of my blog! I will be posting again on the regular, and am truly excited about this!

Today I'm really excited to talk about a gorgeous new nail polish that I recently picked up at CVS. It is a part of a new line by Sally Hansen that incorporates many duochrome polishes. The one that caught my eye is Lava, a gorgeous red, orange, yellow, and pink duochrome. Although the color is absolutely stunning, I have to say the application was less than desirable. Pictured is "Lava" in three coats.

On application, this polish is very sheer which was almost expected from a glittery duochrome. Each coat was somewhat streaky, but it eventually built to a decent three coats.

Unfortunately, the color is absolutely stunning, but the wear time was almost might I say, pathetic. I applied this polish, and the next day the tips were already wearing down. I didn't do anything strenuous, washed a few dishes and showered, and the tip wear is already quite apparent. I have to say it is somewhat of a disappointment, as I expected a lot more from a $7.00 nail polish. I think this will be a polish that I wear for special occasions and such, since it cannot stand up to daily wear like most nail polishes can.
